Having disposed of the Smiths’ – Kevin took care of Smithers head in his own, somewhat less subtle manner – we explored the Lighthouse. While the Lt. was cooking a steak, and Flint Darkstaff filled his pockets with trinkets, the rest of us discovered the top chamber with the fire and oil barrels in it.
We brought one of those barrels with is to use as a major explosive later and entered the tunnels below and soon came to a small cavern connected to the ocean.
Some solid bluffing by Kharrim convinced the undermotivated thug overseeing some some workers that we’re the new crew meant to deliver oil barrels to the pirates. Some extra magic made the man really friendly – comparatively – and we proceeded through more tunnels and over ledges and precipices. Ignoring an obviously rigged chest – Flint had to be dragged away from it, as he was unwilling to leave any potential treasure behind – we came to a long wood log spanning a waterfall below. Chuck decided to take a bath here and jumped in. The rest of us tried to maneuver the barrel over the obstacle diabolo-style, but that didn’t go too well and the barrel fell into the water. The Lt tried to rescue it, but ended up riding the barrel down the waterfall. Loranne Bluevyne soon joined him after a failed attempt to navigate the log-bridge. Her plummeting down through the misty spray into the water below – tight leather dress, stolen pirate hat and all – must have cause a few oggles from the pirates witnessing the scene.
The rest of us went on through the caves, discovered a holding cell containing “Old Scriggins” – the father to “Young Scriggins”, the Prophetess lookout recently killed by the pirates – and came out at the beach where the “Saltbucket” was sitting on a dock. Every single pirate still though us to be the long overdue oil delivery crew, and we happily played along. We found of that Captain <<insert name="true">> and the Mage <<insert name="true">> were running this business for a long while and had recently captured the brother of Lord Gallasson whom they unsucessfully tried to ransom back to the Lord.
Before the session ended there was a failed attempt to steal gold from a hidden cave nearby – the trap protecting the treasure nearby boiled Flint to death and drove us away.
Then we came up with a rough plan how to free the Gallasson brother and escape from here, involving some Alchemist’s Fire like grenades and more bluffing. So far, we managed to go back to the Lilghthouse and restock on Oil and then ended for the night.
